This year’s drupa Prize goes to Ulf Tranow from Düsseldorf for his doctoral thesis “Solidarity and Sociological Analysis – a Theoretical Contribution to the Concept of Solidarity”. With this annual prize, drupa – the world’s biggest trade fair for the printing and media industry – honours the best doctoral thesis of the Faculty of Humanities at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf.

Agfa Graphics is showing for the first time its most advanced packaging technologies at interpack 2011 in 12-18 May (Hall 13 Stand A82). Agfa Graphics' offerings include the :Dotrix digital inkjet press — a system that was built in cooperation with flexo-press manufacturer Edale — giving packaging producers the ease and flexibility of a flexo press with the quality and productivity advantages of a digital inkjet press.

HP is presenting a unique 400m2 “Digital Supermarket” themed stand (FG.15, Hall 15) at interpack
2011 (12-18 May) to present brand managers, retailers, packaging and label
converters with the business opportunities provided by digitally printed packaging,
produced using HP digital solutions including the HP Indigo WS6000 Digital
Press and printing solutions based on thermal inkjet technologies from HP
Specialty Printing System (HP SPS).
