MPS to Host Open House During Drupa 2016

MPS will host an Open House at company headquarters in Arnhem, The Netherlands during Drupa 2016, the world's leading trade fair for print and cross-media solutions held May 31st to June 10th in Düsseldorf, Germany. Visitors attending the MPS Open House will be presented live demonstrations of the EF multi-substrate flexo press, EB label solution press, and new hybrid EF SYMJET flexo/digital press with an integrated Domino digital N610i inkjet printer.

Schedule

Dates of the MPS Open House are June 1, 2, 3, 6 and 7 and free transportation from Drupa to MPS is available for show visitors. The ‘MPS Express’ bus will leave Drupa at 10:30, and visitors will return back to Drupa around 15:15. Travel time from Düsseldorf to Arnhem is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Program

An exciting program is planned for the MPS Open House including three live demonstrations of MPS presses in the new Technology & Expertise Centre. The new hybrid flexo/digital EF SYMJET press developed in cooperation with Domino will be demonstrated, as well as the EF multi-substrate press and the EB label solution press. A variety of applications including multi-layer label printing and cold foil will be shown, demonstrating the unique features of all three presses.

Also part of the agenda is a factory tour through the assembly hall of the new MPS building. During this tour, visitors will have an exclusive opportunity to see the largest press ever built by MPS: an impressive 28 meters long, 14 colours offset, flexo, gravure and screen combination press.

Guests will enjoy a complementary lunch.

Sharing Expertise

During the Open House, MPS will share tips to help improve printing processes, highlight the range of technical support programs and services, and provide information relating to hybrid printing, workflow optimization, colour management, and more.

Due to a limited amount of available seats on the ‘MPS Express’ bus, it is recommended that Drupa visitors interested in attending the MPS Open House register in advance for the event. News

Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG informed about its decision to withdraw from next year's Drupa fair. The main reason is the Covid-19 pandemic and its consequences - restrictions on movement and accumulation, hygiene restrictions and the impossibility to predict how the epidemic will look like next year. At the same time, the concern informs that it intends to focus on the organization of Innovation Weeks in the show centre in Wiesloch-Walldorf, which is related to the ever shorter time of introducing novelties to the market. The first series of presentations, which will also be available online, will take place in October this year.

With the Rapida 106 X, Koenig & Bauer is unveiling a new high-performance sheetfed offset press for the medium format 740 × 1060mm. It meets every conceivable demand that today’s market makes of a press in terms of automation, digitisation and workflow solutions, thereby making it the latest in a line of trendsetting developments defining the future of industrial offset.

Surface treatment has come a long way in the 70 years since Verner Eisby, the founder of Vetaphone, invented and developed the technique that is now known worldwide as Corona. As market demand has led to the evolution of new inks, lacquers, and substrates, so surface treatment has been refined and become more highly tuned to today’s complex market requirements in which the demand for film and foil based printed packaging continues to rise.
